Core values are the traits, convictions and passions that form the basis for character development and ministry effectiveness. Core values are different from beliefs and assumptions in that values usually are the expression or reflection of these. Having an understanding of, and being able to clearly articulate core values, allows a leader to have congruency between what they are doing and how they are doing it as it relates to ministry emphasis and priority. Using a series of reflective questions this section will provide the opportunity for discussion and reflection, as well as point the candidate to a development plan.

Description

CLI – Christian Leadership Institute: Module 1.0 Personal Life

This module of leadership competency explores the private life and personal management skills that are necessary for a Christian leader to serve well for the duration of their life. It identifies the areas of life that require a high level of self-awareness so that the developing leader recognizes the path to healthy success as well as identifying possible pitfalls that can undermine their effectiveness or sideline them from service. This module also seeks to analyze spiritual gifts, personality traits, values and assumptions that shape the way a person leads, taking into consideration strengths and weaknesses, for the purpose of having a greater understanding of their leadership tendencies, philosophy and capacity.
