This is a unique study and discussion of the five equipping gifts from Ephesians 4. Based on a servant-leadership model, a healthy view of these gifts is presented and how they need to operate in balance within the church for effective ministry to take place. Questions such as, Are these positinos or functions? Why are some emphasized in some church traditions and others seem to be ignored? It also incorporates both the Ministry Flow Chart and Organizational Life Cycle from the other MCNet leadership series.

Description

The Fivefold Ministry – A Study of Ephesians 4

This is a unique study and discussion of the five equipping gifts from Ephesians 4. It then incorporates both the Ministry Flow Chart and Organizational Life Cycle from the other MCNet leadership series.

The first chapter is based on Eph. 4 1-16, but also includes the concepts of true biblical servant leadership and what authority in the Body which is based on “headship” really means. This is foundational to understanding a healthy working of the equipping gifts as a whole, as well as within the Body of Christ.

The second chapter focuses on the implications of fivefold functions for both the leader and leadership teams. This Christological approach has far reaching implications as we look at how this intersects with our other gifts, calling, and role as servant leaders in the Body.

Chapter three applies these principles within the Church in general and, more specifically, as expressed in the local church. This will include revisiting some of our other evaluation tools (such as the Ministry Flow Chart and Life Cycle) and how to integrate the fivefold approach into the life of the Church.
