Coaching Teams in Ukraine
On a recent trip to eastern Ukraine Phil was able to share with several church and ministry teams. They met together for the mentoring workshop and then he was also able to have coaching sessions with several of the teams, some of which are highlighted in this report. NEW HOPE CENTER
Maxym and his team oversee New Hope Center which began as a ministry to orphans and then provided life/career skills to orphans that aged out of the system as young adults. They then realized that there was a further need to minister to marginalized families in the community. This now includes coaching the parents as they learn the dynamics of a healthy family. As a ministry, we are helping them be a more effective team as they seek to meet the many needs of the community in which they live.
RECOVERY MINISTRY
Pastor Akim is part of a team giving leadership to a church that began from a Rehab center. Phil was able to share one evening with this church and encourage them that God had a purpose for their lives and to not let their past or current challenges sidetrack them from what God wants to do in and through their lives in the future.
YOUTH MINISTRY
Several years ago Alexey attended our mentoring workshops and is now using our mentoring materials to help mentor young men through a sports club that he has started in the schools. It is exciting to see the many expressions of ministries these leaders are engaged in as they implement the principles of biblical leadership (which tend to be counter cultural). Those with these values are not only minorities in their society, but also within the church. Our goal is to encourage these servant leaders and help them to grow in their lives & ministries.
