Complete competency syllabus and all reading materials
The foundational competency of the Christian leader is self-competency in the area of their character. The guideline for this is based on God’s Word, which is the measure of our growth in this area. While ministry is often considered “doing,” according to God’s standards, who we are, our “being” must precede all ministry activities. Even before one’s gifts and skills are assessed, we must consider the degree to which we understand and obey the commands to have Christ’s character within us.
Description
CLI – Christian Leadership Institute: Module 1.0 Personal Life
This module of leadership competency explores the private life and personal management skills that are necessary for a Christian leader to serve well for the duration of their life. It identifies the areas of life that require a high level of self-awareness so that the developing leader recognizes the path to healthy success as well as identifying possible pitfalls that can undermine their effectiveness or sideline them from service. This module also seeks to analyze spiritual gifts, personality traits, values and assumptions that shape the way a person leads, taking into consideration strengths and weaknesses, for the purpose of having a greater understanding of their leadership tendencies, philosophy and capacity.
